On April 24th, Sweeth proudly participated in the hands-on workshop “3D Printing in the Dental Practice”, led by renowned dental expert Wouter Reybrouck at Digital Dentistry Belgium in Mechelen. The event attracted dentists, lab technicians, and clinic owners eager to discover how 3D printing is reshaping modern dentistry.
He graduated from KU Leuven in 1993 and took over his mother’s dental practice in Liedekerke, which he and his wife — orthodontic specialist Dr. Isabelle Savoye — transformed into a state-of-the-art multidisciplinary clinic.
Dr. Reybrouck has been a long-time advocate of digital workflows in dentistry. As former chairman of ODUC, he supported the interests of users of dental software by Corilus. Since 2013, his practice has gone fully digital with investments in intraoral scanning, dental 3D printing, and CBCT to complete the CAD/CAM workflow. He deepened his expertise through international congresses and self-study and frequently lectures on digital dentistry and 3D printing in Belgium and abroad.
Today’s dental practices are rapidly evolving, and 3D printing is at the heart of this transformation. The workshop covered a wide range of practical applications — from printing models, bite splints, and surgical guides to indirect bonding trays. These solutions are already being used in day-to-day workflows, improving both precision and efficiency.
One of the biggest highlights? The emergence of 3D-printed final crowns. Wouter Reybrouck showcased clinical examples and explained how the newest materials have made it possible to print high-quality, durable crowns in-house. This represents a major leap in restorative dentistry — reducing costs, treatment times, and reliance on external labs.
At the Sweeth information stand, attendees explored our All-in-One Dental Solution, designed to empower clinics with the ability to produce clear aligners and veneers in-house, from scan to print.
Many visitors were surprised by how compact and accessible this system is — offering a digital workflow that’s not only fast and user-friendly, but also enables customisation at scale. Whether for a single case or an entire treatment plan, dentists gain full control over production without compromising on quality or aesthetics.
Our experts were present throughout the event to demonstrate the system, answer technical questions, and advise practices on how to integrate in-house printing with minimal disruption.
At Sweeth, we understand that adopting new technology can be challenging. That’s why we support clinics throughout the entire process — whether they’re just starting with 3D printing or looking to optimise an existing setup. From material recommendations (especially for aligners) and workflow guidance to hands-on training for your team, Sweeth helps make the transition as smooth and efficient as possible.
The positive response confirmed what we at Sweeth strongly believe: the dental sector is embracing innovation faster than ever. More and more clinicians are looking for digital solutions that are flexible, cost-effective, and easy to implement — and 3D printing ticks all those boxes.
The event wasn’t just a workshop — it was a moment of connection. Many professionals shared their own experiences and challenges with digital workflows, and it was inspiring to see how much momentum there is behind the move toward digitally enabled, patient-centered care.
Couldn’t make it this time? Sweeth will be present at more events throughout the year to continue supporting the shift toward smarter, faster, and more personalised care.
In the near future, we’re also planning a live webinar featuring Sweeth experts and leading dental professionals to explore the possibilities of in-house 3D printing even further. Whether you're already working with digital tools or just getting started, this session will offer valuable insights, real case studies, and practical guidance for your clinic.
